Possible Causes
Corrupted firmware on control board, failed memory IC, severe power surge damage, incorrect control board replacement
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the control panel.
- Power reset: Turn off the oven at the breaker for at least 10 minutes to allow capacitors to discharge. Restore power and check if E15 clears.
- Check model configuration: If the control board was recently replaced, ensure the correct Essentials part number was installed and any required configuration or parameter setup was performed according to the service manual.
- Inspect for surge damage: Remove the control board and look for burned tracks, cracked ICs, or other obvious damage. If present, the board must be replaced.
- Replace control board: In most cases of E15, the only reliable fix is to install a new, pre-programmed Essentials control module.
- Verify operation: After replacement, set the clock and test all functions to confirm normal operation.
