Possible Causes
Faulty mechanical thermostat (on knob models), poor sensor connection, intermittent NTC sensor, loose control knob shaft
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains power before accessing the control panel.
- Check control knob: Ensure the temperature knob is firmly attached and not slipping on the shaft. Tighten or replace the knob if loose.
- Mechanical thermostat test: On models with a capillary thermostat, listen for a distinct click when turning through the temperature range. If there is no click or the oven cuts out prematurely, replace the thermostat.
- Electronic sensor check: On digital models, inspect the NTC sensor wiring and connector at the control board. Reseat the plug and test the sensor resistance. Replace if intermittent.
- Inspect for overheating around control: Excess heat can cause the thermostat or sensor to trip early. Ensure the cooling fan and vents are working correctly.
- Re-test: After replacing the faulty control component, run the oven at a stable temperature and confirm that it maintains heat without rapid cycling or E19.
