Possible Causes
Seized convection fan motor, broken fan blades, open fan motor winding, obstructed fan
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power and ensure the oven is cool.
- Check for obstruction: Remove the rear fan cover inside the oven and inspect for loose screws, foil, or food debris blocking the fan. Remove any obstructions.
- Spin test: Try turning the fan by hand. If stiff or grinding, the motor bearings are likely worn and the motor should be replaced.
- Electrical test: From the rear of the oven, disconnect the fan motor and measure resistance. An open circuit indicates a failed motor.
- Replace fan motor: Remove mounting screws, transfer the fan blade to the new motor if required, and install the new Essentials convection fan motor.
- Test fan mode: Restore power and select a fan-assisted function to confirm the fan runs smoothly.
