Oven cavity light stays on even when door is closed and oven is off

Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the door switch or control board.

• Check door switch: Locate the door switch (usually near the door frame). Press it manually and listen for a click. Test continuity with a multimeter; replace if it does not change state.
• Adjust door alignment: Ensure the door closes squarely and actuates the switch fully. Adjust hinges or striker if needed.
• Control relay: If the switch is good but the light remains on, the light relay on the control board may be stuck closed. Replace the control module if required.
• Test operation: Restore power and confirm that the light now turns off when the door is closed.
