Oven makes loud banging or popping noises when heating or cooling

Safety first: Turn off power and allow the oven to cool before tightening any fixings.

• Identify source: Run the oven and listen carefully to locate the area of noise (top, sides, rear). Then switch off and cool.
• Tighten screws: Remove top and rear panels and tighten any loose screws on brackets, panels, and element supports.
• Check element mounts: Ensure heating elements are firmly clipped and not flexing excessively. Replace broken clips or supports.
• Inspect cavity liner: Look for obvious warping or buckling. Minor expansion noises are normal; severe deformation may require cavity or oven replacement.
• Re-test: Run the oven again to see if the noise is reduced.
