Oven shuts off partway through cooking but display and light remain on

Safety first: Turn off power and allow the oven to cool before inspection.

• Check ventilation: Ensure cabinet cut-out and vents meet Essentials installation requirements. Clear any obstructions.
• Inspect safety thermostat: Locate the thermal cut-out on the oven top or rear. Test continuity at room temperature; replace if intermittent or opening at too low a temperature.
• Check wiring: Inspect connections to all heating elements and the thermostat for looseness or signs of overheating. Tighten or replace connectors as needed.
• Test thermostat: On mechanical models, a failing thermostat may open prematurely. Replace if suspected.
• Monitor operation: After repairs, run the oven for at least 30–60 minutes and confirm that heating remains stable.
