Possible Causes

Broken NTC sensor probe, Disconnected or corroded sensor connector, Shorted sensor wiring to chassis, Faulty input circuit on electronic control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before accessing the rear or control panel.

  • Access the sensor: Locate the sensor probe inside the oven cavity (rear wall). Remove the mounting screws and gently pull the sensor forward to access the connector behind the liner or from the rear panel.
  • Test the sensor: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance across its terminals. If the reading is infinite (open) or near 0 Ω (short), replace the sensor with a compatible Fagor NTC probe.
  • Inspect connectors: Check the sensor plug and the mating connector on the wiring harness for corrosion, looseness, or heat damage. Clean contacts and ensure a firm connection.
  • Check wiring harness: Follow the harness from the sensor to the control board. Look for pinched or rubbed-through insulation where it passes through metal panels. Repair or replace damaged sections.
  • Control board check: If a known-good sensor and wiring still trigger F04, the sensor input circuit on the main PCB may be defective. Replace the control board as a complete assembly.
