Possible Causes
Burnt-out convection fan motor, Seized fan bearings, Faulty fan relay on control board, Broken wiring to fan motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the mains. Sharp metal edges are present inside the oven; wear cut-resistant gloves.
- Check fan operation: With the oven set to a fan-assisted mode (and power restored briefly), listen for the fan. If it hums but does not spin, the motor may be seized. Turn power off again before further work.
- Access the fan: Remove the internal rear panel of the oven cavity to expose the circular fan and element. Try spinning the fan blade by hand. It should rotate freely without grinding. If stiff or noisy, replace the fan motor assembly.
- Test the motor: Disconnect the fan motor wires and measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. Replace with the correct Fagor convection fan motor.
- Inspect wiring and relay: Check the wiring from the motor to the control board for burns or loose connectors. On the PCB, inspect the fan relay for signs of overheating. If the relay does not energize when fan mode is selected, the control board may require replacement.
