Possible Causes
Failed tangential cooling fan motor, Blocked cooling air vents, Faulty cooling fan thermostat, Defective fan relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power and allow the oven to cool completely. Hot surfaces may cause burns.
- Check vents: Inspect the front and rear ventilation slots for dust, grease, or obstructions. Clean thoroughly to restore airflow.
- Access cooling fan: On many Fagor built-in ovens, the cooling fan is located above the oven cavity behind the top cover. Remove the oven from the cabinet if necessary and take off the top panel to access the fan.
- Test fan motor: Spin the fan wheel by hand; it should move freely. Measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open circuit or strong burning smell indicates a failed motor that must be replaced.
- Check thermostat: Some models use a cooling fan thermostat mounted on the top of the cavity. Test for continuity when warm (you can gently warm it with a hair dryer while disconnected). Replace if it does not close as expected.
- Control board relay: If the fan and thermostat are good, inspect the control board fan relay and solder joints. Replace the board if the relay is not energizing or is burnt.
