Possible Causes
Defective touch control panel, Damaged ribbon cable between UI and main board, Moisture ingress behind control glass, Faulty user interface processor on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the oven from mains power before removing the control panel.
- Power reset: Turn off the breaker for 5–10 minutes, then restore power. Sometimes the touch controller can lock up and a reset will restore operation.
- Inspect control panel: Remove the front control panel assembly. Check for signs of moisture, steam damage, or corrosion on the touch board and connectors. Dry thoroughly and clean with isopropyl alcohol if lightly contaminated.
- Check ribbon cable: Ensure the flat ribbon cable between the user interface and main control board is fully seated and not cracked or torn. Reseat both ends. Replace the cable if damaged.
- Test keypad: On models with membrane keypads, test continuity of individual keys if possible. If multiple keys fail or the touch glass is unresponsive, replace the complete user interface module or glass touch panel.
- Main board: If a known-good UI still does not respond, the main control board may not be reading the keypad signals and should be replaced.
