Possible Causes

Stuck door lock motor, Broken door latch microswitch, Faulty lock solenoid, Control board not releasing lock signal

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker. Ensure the oven is cool before attempting to release the lock.

  • Manual release: Many Fagor ovens have a manual door lock release accessible from the top or behind the control panel. Remove the top cover and look for a plastic lever near the lock assembly. Gently move it to unlock the door.
  • Inspect lock assembly: With the door open, remove the front panel or side panels as needed to access the lock motor and latch. Check for broken plastic parts, misalignment, or obstructions. Replace the complete door lock assembly if damaged.
  • Test microswitches: Use a multimeter to test continuity of the lock position switches while operating the lock manually. Replace the lock assembly if switches do not change state reliably.
  • Control signal: If the lock hardware is functional but remains engaged when power is restored, the control board may be continuously powering the lock motor. In this case, replace the electronic control board.
