Possible Causes
Open grill element, Burnt wiring to grill element, Faulty grill relay on control board, Overheated connection at element terminals
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains power before accessing the top or rear panels.
- Visual inspection: Look at the grill element inside the top of the cavity for blisters, cracks, or burn marks. A visibly damaged element must be replaced.
- Test grill element: Disconnect the element terminals (from the rear or inside, depending on model) and measure resistance. An open circuit indicates a failed element. Fit a genuine or compatible Fagor grill element.
- Check wiring and terminals: Inspect the element terminals and wiring for signs of overheating or loose connections. Replace any burnt connectors and trim back damaged wire, reconnecting with high‑temperature terminals.
- Control relay: If the element and wiring are good, the grill relay on the control board may not be energizing. Listen for a click when grill mode is selected. If absent and voltage is not present at the element, replace the control board.
