Possible Causes

Burnt-out bottom element, Loose connection at element terminals, Damaged wiring harness to lower element, Faulty selector switch (on knob-controlled models)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker. The bottom element area may have sharp edges; wear gloves.

  • Access bottom element: Remove the oven base panel inside the cavity (if fitted) to expose the lower element. On some Fagor models, access is from the rear panel.
  • Inspect and test: Check the element for visible damage. Disconnect the wires and measure resistance. Replace the element if open or visibly burnt.
  • Check connections: Ensure the spade terminals are tight and free of corrosion. Replace any overheated connectors and secure firmly.
  • Selector switch (if applicable): On mechanical models with a function selector knob, test the switch contacts for continuity in bottom-heat mode. Replace the selector switch if the contact is open when it should be closed.
