Possible Causes
Damaged meat probe, Dirty or oxidized probe socket, Broken wiring from probe jack to control board, Faulty probe input circuit on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the probe socket or control board.
- Inspect probe: Check the Fagor meat probe cable and tip for cuts, kinks, or burn marks. Replace the probe if damaged.
- Clean socket: Use a dry cloth or cotton swab with a small amount of isopropyl alcohol to clean the probe jack inside the oven cavity. Ensure no food residue is present.
- Test probe resistance: Measure resistance across the probe plug terminals at room temperature. Compare with specifications (commonly a few kΩ). Replace if open or shorted.
- Check wiring: From the probe jack, trace the wires to the control board. Repair any damaged wiring or loose connectors.
- Control board: If a new probe and good wiring still cause an error, the probe input circuit on the control board is likely defective and the board should be replaced.
