Possible Causes

Disconnected or broken temperature sensor wiring, Failed temperature sensor (NTC) open circuit, Damaged sensor connector at control board, Harness damage from heat at rear of cavity

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Isolate the appliance from the mains before removing any panels.

  • Access the temperature sensor: Identify the sensor probe inside the oven cavity. Remove the rear panel of the cooker to access its connector.
  • Check wiring and connector: Ensure the sensor plug is fully seated on the Falcon oven control PCB or intermediate connector. Look for heat-damaged or brittle wires. Repair or replace the Falcon oven sensor harness if insulation is cracked.
  • Test the sensor: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance. If the meter shows open circuit (OL), the sensor is faulty. Replace with a genuine Falcon oven temperature sensor of the correct rating.
  • Clear the error: After replacement, restore power and reset the oven by switching off at the isolator for 1–2 minutes. Re-test by setting a moderate temperature and confirming normal heat-up.
