Possible Causes
Shorted NTC sensor, Sensor wiring shorted to chassis, Moisture ingress into sensor probe, Damaged sensor connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power at the mains before working on the oven.
- Inspect sensor and wiring: Locate the Falcon oven temperature sensor at the rear of the cavity. Check that the probe is not physically damaged or loose. Inspect the cable for crushed insulation or contact with sharp metal edges.
- Measure resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature. A very low reading (near 0 Ω) indicates a shorted sensor. Replace the sensor if shorted or if resistance is far outside Falcon's specification.
- Check for wiring shorts: With the sensor unplugged, check continuity between each sensor wire and chassis ground. There should be no continuity. If there is, locate and repair the damaged section of the Falcon sensor harness.
- Reassemble and test: After replacing or repairing, restore power and test the oven through a full heat cycle.
