Possible Causes
Failed cooling fan motor, Faulty cooling fan thermostat, Open circuit wiring to fan, Faulty control board fan relay
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate the oven from the mains and allow it to cool fully.
- Locate the cooling fan: On Falcon ovens, the cooling fan is typically mounted behind the top panel or rear panel, blowing air across the control area.
- Check fan operation: With the oven re-energised briefly, start a heating cycle and listen for the cooling fan. If it does not run at all, switch off power again and proceed with tests.
- Test fan motor: Disconnect the Falcon cooling fan motor and measure resistance across its terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. Replace the fan assembly if faulty.
- Inspect fan thermostat: Some models use a thermostat to switch the fan. Locate the Falcon cooling fan thermostat on the top or rear of the cavity and test for continuity when warm. Replace if it does not close when heated.
- Check wiring and connectors: Inspect the harness from the control board to the fan and thermostat. Repair any burnt or loose connectors.
If the fan and thermostat are good, the fault may lie with the fan relay on the main PCB, which usually requires board repair or replacement.
