Possible Causes
Failed door lock motor, Jammed door latch, Faulty door lock microswitch, Wiring fault between lock and control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before working on the door lock. Ensure the oven is cool.
- Check for mechanical obstruction: Inspect the door latch area for bent metal, grease build-up, or foreign objects preventing full closure. Clean and straighten as needed.
- Test door lock motor: Access the Falcon oven door lock assembly from the top or front (depending on model). With the lock disconnected, measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor; replace the lock assembly.
- Check lock switches: Many locks have one or more microswitches to signal locked/unlocked status. Test each switch with a multimeter for correct open/closed operation when the lock is actuated. Replace the lock assembly if switches are faulty.
- Inspect wiring: Verify continuity from the lock connector back to the control PCB. Repair any damaged wires.
After replacement, clear the error by isolating power for a few minutes, then test a lock/unlock cycle.
