Possible Causes
Door lock motor jammed, Faulty lock position microswitch, Control board not receiving correct lock status, Overheated lock mechanism
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the mains. Allow the oven to cool fully before attempting to release the door.
- Try a power reset: Isolate the oven for 5–10 minutes, then restore power. Some Falcon models will attempt to re-home the lock on power-up and may release the door.
- Manual release: Consult your Falcon service documentation; many locks have a manual release lever accessible from the top or rear once the top panel is removed. Use this to open the door carefully.
- Inspect the lock assembly: Once accessible, check the Falcon door lock assembly for signs of overheating or mechanical damage. Test the motor and microswitches with a multimeter. Replace the assembly if any component is faulty.
- Check wiring and PCB: Ensure the lock harness is secure at the control board. If the lock tests good but the board does not drive it correctly, the Falcon oven control PCB may need replacement.
