Possible Causes
Weak or failed thermocouple, Misaligned burner flame not heating sensor, Faulty gas valve FSD, Dirty burner affecting flame stability
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off gas and power. Gas-related repairs should be carried out by a qualified gas engineer.
- Clean burner: Remove and clean the oven burner to ensure a stable, blue flame that fully envelops the Falcon oven thermocouple tip.
- Check thermocouple position: Ensure the thermocouple tip is correctly positioned in the flame. If bent away, gently reposition.
- Replace thermocouple: If the flame still goes out when the knob is released, the thermocouple may not be generating enough voltage. Replace with the correct Falcon oven thermocouple.
- Gas valve: If a new thermocouple does not resolve the issue, the FSD section of the Falcon gas oven valve may be faulty and should be replaced by a professional.
