Possible Causes

Shorted or blown oven lamp, Damaged lamp holder/ceramic socket, Shorted lamp wiring to chassis, Faulty light relay or triac on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Switch off power at the breaker before changing the lamp or touching the lamp holder.

  • 1. Replace the lamp: Remove the glass lens over the lamp inside the cavity (usually twists off). Unscrew the lamp and inspect the filament. Replace with a Fisher & Paykel-compatible high-temperature oven bulb of the same wattage and base type.
  • 2. Inspect lamp holder: Check the ceramic lamp holder for cracks, burn marks, or loose contacts. If damaged, the holder must be replaced.
  • 3. Wiring check: Access the rear of the lamp assembly from the back of the oven. Inspect wiring for insulation damage or signs of arcing to the metal chassis. Repair or replace damaged wires.
  • 4. Control board: If a new lamp and good wiring still result in F08 or tripping when the light is switched on, the light control circuit on the main board may be shorted. This typically requires board replacement.

Never exceed the specified lamp wattage, as this can overheat the lamp housing and wiring.
