Possible Causes

Incorrect mains voltage supply, Loose connection at terminal block, Faulty line filter or power module, Internal fuse blown on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before accessing the rear terminal block or internal components.

  • 1. Check household supply: Verify that the correct voltage is present at the wall outlet or junction box (e.g., 230–240 V AC for many Fisher & Paykel ovens). If supply is low or unstable, contact an electrician.
  • 2. Inspect terminal block: Remove the rear cover to access the mains terminal block. Look for loose screws, burnt insulation, or discoloured terminals. Tighten connections and replace any burnt parts.
  • 3. Line filter / power module: Trace the wiring from the terminal block to the line filter or power module. Inspect for signs of overheating or damage. Replace if visibly burnt or if no power is passed through.
  • 4. Internal fuses: Some models have internal fuses on the control board. With power off, check these fuses for continuity. Replace only with identical type and rating. If a fuse blows again immediately, there is an underlying short that must be diagnosed.

Work on mains connections should only be performed by someone competent with electrical safety. If unsure, contact a licensed technician.
