Possible Causes
Corrupted EEPROM data on main control board, Failed memory IC, Voltage spike damage to control electronics, Incomplete software update (where applicable)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the control panel or touching the control board.
- 1. Power cycle: Turn off power for 10–15 minutes to allow capacitors to discharge. Restore power and check if F11 clears.
- 2. Check for surge damage: Inspect the main control board for burnt components, bulging capacitors, or scorch marks. If present, the board must be replaced.
- 3. Reseat connectors: With power off, disconnect and reconnect all harness plugs to the control board to ensure good contact.
- 4. Software reprogramming: Some Fisher & Paykel models require a service tool to reprogram the EEPROM. This can only be done by an authorised technician.
If F11 persists after a reset and there is evidence of surge damage, replacement of the main control board is usually the only remedy.
