Possible Causes
Sensor drift outside calibration range, Incorrect calibration data in control board, Poor sensor contact at connector, Control board ADC (analog-to-digital converter) fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the rear of the oven or control board.
- 1. Verify actual temperature: Use an accurate oven thermometer placed in the centre of the cavity. Compare the displayed temperature to the actual temperature during a bake cycle.
- 2. Check sensor connection: Access the rear of the oven and reseat the temperature sensor connector at the control board. Inspect for corrosion or loose pins.
- 3. Sensor resistance test: Measure the sensor resistance at room temperature and at a known elevated temperature (e.g., ~200°C after heating, with power off). Compare to Fisher & Paykel specifications. Replace the sensor if readings are inconsistent.
- 4. Calibration (if supported): Some models allow temperature offset adjustment in the settings menu. Apply a small offset if the oven is consistently off by a known amount.
- 5. Control board replacement: If the sensor is good and calibration cannot correct the issue, the control board's measurement circuit may be faulty.
Do not rely on an oven with a known large temperature error for critical cooking until repaired or calibrated.
