Possible Causes
Open convection (ring) element around fan, Loose or burnt terminals at convection element, Faulty convection element relay on control board, Wiring harness damage near fan housing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the oven to cool.
- 1. Access convection element: Remove the fan cover inside the cavity. The ring-shaped convection element is located around the fan.
- 2. Visual inspection: Check the ring element for cracks, breaks, or burn marks. Replace if damaged.
- 3. Continuity test: Access the rear of the oven to reach the element terminals. Disconnect and measure resistance. An open circuit indicates a failed element.
- 4. Wiring and terminals: Inspect for heat-damaged insulation or loose spade connectors. Repair or replace as needed.
- 5. Control board: If the element and wiring are good, the convection relay on the control board may be faulty and require board replacement.
After replacing the convection element, verify even heating in fan modes with an oven thermometer.
