Possible Causes
Moisture inside heating elements, Damp insulation around wiring, Degraded element insulation resistance, Contaminated mains filter module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not repeatedly reset a tripping safety device without investigating the cause.
- 1. Drying period: Turn off power and allow the oven to dry for 24–48 hours with the door open, especially if the issue started after cleaning or a spill.
- 2. Isolate functions: Test each heating function separately (bake, grill, fan bake) to identify which element causes the trip.
- 3. Insulation testing: A technician can perform insulation resistance tests on each element to identify the leaking component.
- 4. Replace suspect element: Any element with low insulation resistance to earth should be replaced with a genuine Fisher & Paykel part.
Because earth leakage can present a shock hazard, professional testing is strongly advised.
