Possible Causes
Open or shorted keypad membrane, Damaged ribbon cable, Failed EOC keypad interface, Corroded keypad connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn off power at the breaker before removing the control panel.
- Check keypad ribbon cable:
- Remove the control panel rear cover.
- Locate the flat ribbon cable from the keypad to the EOC.
- Inspect for kinks, cracks, or corrosion on the contacts.
- Clean contacts gently with a soft pencil eraser and reseat firmly.
- Test keypad response:
- Restore power and test multiple keys.
- If some keys work and others do not, the Touchpad/Control Panel Assembly is likely failing.
- Isolate control vs. keypad:
- With power OFF, disconnect the keypad ribbon and restore power.
- If F14 changes or clears with keypad disconnected, replace the Touchpad/Control Panel Assembly.
- If F14 persists with keypad disconnected, replace the Electronic Oven Control (EOC).
