Possible Causes
Open oven temperature sensor (RTD), Broken sensor wiring harness, Loose sensor connector at EOC, Damaged sensor plug
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn off power at the breaker before accessing the sensor or control.
- Check sensor connection:
- Locate the oven temperature sensor probe inside the oven cavity (back wall).
- Remove the two screws and gently pull the sensor forward to access the connector.
- Ensure the connector is fully seated; inspect for burnt or loose pins.
- Test sensor resistance:
- Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature.
- A good Frigidaire RTD should read ~1050–1100 Ω at 70°F (21°C).
- If the meter shows OL (open) or extremely high resistance, replace the Oven Temperature Sensor (RTD).
- Check harness to EOC:
- If the sensor tests good, trace the harness from the sensor to the EOC.
- Look for breaks, pinched sections, or burnt insulation.
- Repair or replace the Oven Sensor Harness if damaged.
