Possible Causes
Stuck lockout relay on control board, Failed user interface board, Loose communication harness, Incorrect control lock state
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn off power at the breaker before accessing internal components.
- Check control lock feature:
- On many Frigidaire Professional ovens, press and hold the Lock or Control Lock key for 3–5 seconds to toggle lockout.
- If F40 clears, no further repair is needed.
- Power reset:
- Turn breaker OFF for 5 minutes, then ON. Test operation.
- Inspect control board connections:
- Remove the control panel and locate the EOC and any separate user interface board.
- Reseat all low-voltage harnesses between boards.
- Replace control if persistent:
- If F40 persists and lock/unlock has no effect, the lockout relay or communication circuit on the Electronic Oven Control (EOC) may be defective.
- Replace the EOC (and UI board if separate and specified by Frigidaire for your model).
