Possible Causes
Weak or stalled lock motor, Mechanical binding in latch, Obstruction at door latch, Faulty lock relay on EOC
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Disconnect power at the breaker before accessing the lock mechanism.
- Check for physical obstruction:
- Inspect the door latch on the front of the oven for bent metal or debris.
- Ensure the oven door closes fully and evenly.
- Access lock motor assembly:
- Remove top panel or front trim to reach the Door Lock Motor Assembly.
- Manually move the latch to verify smooth travel.
- Test motor operation:
- With power applied (use caution), start a self-clean and observe whether the motor attempts to move.
- If the motor hums but does not move, or does nothing, replace the Door Lock Motor and Switch Assembly.
- Check control board:
- If a known-good motor does not receive voltage during lock attempt, the EOC lock relay may be faulty; replace the Electronic Oven Control (EOC).
