Possible Causes
Stuck lock mechanism, Failed unlock switch, Weak lock motor, Faulty EOC unlock relay
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn off power at the breaker. Oven may still be hot; wear heat-resistant gloves if recently used.
- Allow full cool-down:
- Wait until the oven is completely cool; some models keep the door locked until a safe temperature is reached.
- Manual unlock:
- Remove the top panel or front trim to access the lock assembly.
- Use a flat-blade screwdriver to gently move the latch to the unlocked position.
- Inspect and test lock assembly:
- Check for bent linkage or debris preventing full unlock travel.
- Test the unlock switch for proper continuity when latch is in the unlocked position.
- Replace the Door Lock Motor and Switch Assembly if components are worn or defective.
- Control board:
- If the lock assembly is good but F94 recurs, the EOC unlock relay or sense circuit may be faulty; replace the Electronic Oven Control (EOC).
