Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before removing the oven from the cabinet or opening covers.
- Check ventilation openings: Ensure front and rear ventilation slots are not blocked by cabinetry, insulation, or stored items.
- Listen for fan operation: With the oven powered and a heating program started, listen at the top/front for the cooling fan. It should start shortly after heating begins.
- Access the cooling fan: Remove the oven from the cabinet if necessary and take off the top cover to access the tangential cooling fan.
- Spin test: With power OFF, spin the fan wheel by hand. It should rotate freely without scraping. Stiff or seized movement indicates a bad motor or bearing.
- Voltage check (advanced): With power ON and a heating program running, carefully measure voltage at the fan terminals (only if you are trained and can do so safely). If voltage is present but the fan does not run, replace the fan motor.
- Clean ducts: Remove dust and debris from the fan blades and air channels to restore airflow.
Warning: Operating the oven without a functioning cooling fan can cause overheating and damage to electronics. If you are not comfortable working around live mains voltage, contact a professional.
