Oven shows E011 and will not start, often after a power outage or surge
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before removing any panels.
- Hard reset: Turn off the oven at the breaker for at least 15 minutes to allow capacitors to discharge. Restore power and check if E011 clears.
- Factory reset (if available): Consult the user manual for a key combination to reset settings to factory defaults and perform it if possible.
- Check for updates: On Wi-Fi enabled Gaggenau ovens, use the app or settings menu to check for and apply any pending firmware updates once the error clears temporarily.
Note: Persistent E011 usually indicates a failing control board memory. Replacement of the main control module is typically required and should be done by an authorized service technician to ensure correct programming.
