Failed rotary encoder, Loose knob shaft or coupling, Contaminated encoder contacts, Broken wiring from encoder to control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before removing the control panel or knob assembly.
- Check knob alignment: Ensure the control knob is firmly seated on the shaft and not cracked or slipping.
- Clean around knob: Wipe away grease or debris around the knob that may have entered the encoder.
- Remove knob and inspect: Pull off the knob and inspect the shaft and encoder for physical damage.
- Reseat connector: Access the back of the control panel and reseat the encoder connector on the control board.
Note: If the encoder does not register changes after cleaning and reseating, it or the main control board may need replacement.
