E025
Gaggenau Meat probe / core temperature sensor fault

Oven shows E025, often on models with core temperature probe, and probe functions are disabled

Possible Causes

Damaged or shorted core temperature probe, Moisture in probe socket, Broken wiring from probe jack to control board, Faulty probe detection circuit on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power before accessing internal wiring.

  • Remove probe: Unplug the core temperature probe from its socket and inspect the plug and socket for corrosion, food residue, or moisture.
  • Clean socket: Gently clean the socket with a dry cotton swab. Allow it to dry completely.
  • Test without probe: Restore power and check if E025 disappears when the probe is not connected. If so, the probe itself is likely faulty.
  • Probe resistance test: Measure resistance across the probe contacts. Compare to specifications (typically a few kΩ at room temperature). Infinite or zero resistance indicates a bad probe.
  • Inspect internal wiring: If E025 persists with no probe connected, inspect the wiring from the socket to the control board for shorts or damage.

Recommendation: Replace the core temperature probe if it tests faulty. If wiring is intact and the error persists, the control board probe circuit may need replacement.
