Possible Causes
Loose fan blade on shaft, Debris caught in fan, Worn fan motor bearings, Bent fan blade contacting shroud
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and allow the oven to cool before accessing the fan.
- Identify which fan: Determine whether the noise comes from the convection fan (inside cavity) or the cooling fan (top/rear of unit).
- Inspect convection fan: Remove the internal rear panel and check the fan blade for looseness or contact with the housing. Tighten the centre nut if loose.
- Remove debris: Clear any food particles or foil pieces caught in the fan.
- Spin test: Rotate the fan by hand. Roughness or grinding indicates worn bearings and the motor should be replaced.
- Cooling fan check: Access the top/rear of the oven and inspect the tangential fan for loose mounting or foreign objects.
Note: Continued operation with a noisy fan can lead to motor failure or damage to other components.
