Possible Causes
Failed electronic oven control (EOC), Shorted keypad, Corroded keypad ribbon connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Shut off power at the breaker before accessing the control area.
- Reset power: Turn the breaker off for 5–10 minutes, then restore power. If F1 reappears immediately, suspect the control or keypad.
- Isolate keypad vs. control: With power off, remove the control panel and disconnect the keypad ribbon from the EOC. Restore power briefly. If F1 does not appear with the keypad disconnected, the keypad/control panel is bad. If F1 still appears, the EOC is bad.
- Replace faulty component: Order the correct GE Profile keypad/control panel or EOC using the full model number. Label and transfer each wire from the old board to the new one one-by-one to avoid miswiring.
Warning: The EOC operates at line voltage. If you are not experienced with electrical work, have a technician perform the replacement.
