Possible Causes
Failed lower oven temperature sensor, Open or shorted lower sensor wiring, Loose connector at lower sensor or control
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before servicing.
- Identify lower sensor: In a double wall oven, the lower oven has its own sensor probe. Remove its mounting screws and gently pull it forward.
- Test resistance: Disconnect and measure resistance; expect ~1080 Ω at room temperature. Replace if open, shorted, or out of range.
- Inspect harness: Trace the lower sensor wires to the control board. Check for pinched or broken wires, especially where the harness passes between cavities.
- Reseat connectors: Reseat the lower sensor connector at the control board.
When to call a pro: If the harness is damaged inside the insulation or frame, professional repair is recommended.
