Possible Causes
Stuck or shorted touchpad key, Failed control panel membrane, Faulty EOC keypad interface circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before removing the control panel.
- Check for stuck keys: With power off, press each keypad button several times to feel for sticking or lack of tactile feedback.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the control panel and inspect the flat ribbon cable for cracks, kinks, or corrosion at the connector. Reseat the cable.
- Test with keypad disconnected: With power off, unplug the keypad ribbon from the EOC. Restore power briefly. If F7 disappears, the keypad/control panel is bad. If F7 remains, the EOC is faulty.
- Replace faulty part: Order the correct GE Profile control panel/touchpad or EOC and install per service manual or parts diagram.
Tip: If the oven is under warranty, keypad/EOC failures are commonly covered—check before purchasing parts.
