Possible Causes

Warped lock latch from high heat, Failed lock motor, Misaligned lock linkage, Faulty lock switch feedback

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and allow the oven to cool completely.

  • Wait and reset: Sometimes the lock will release after additional cooling. After 30–60 minutes, restore power and press Clear/Off.
  • Force unlock via control: Start a self-clean cycle, wait 30 seconds, then cancel it to trigger an unlock sequence.
  • Manual release: If still locked, remove the top or rear panel to access the lock assembly and manually move the latch to the open position with power off.
  • Replace lock assembly: If the mechanism is warped or the motor does not run, replace the door lock motor assembly.

Warning: Do not pry the door open from the front; this can crack the glass and damage the frame.
