GE Profile
Inaccurate oven temperature regulation
Oven heats but does not reach set temperature or cooks food unevenly; temperature seems off by more than 25°F.

Possible Causes
Drifting oven temperature sensor, Failing EOC temperature calibration, Poor air circulation due to blocked vents or fan issues
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before removing panels or testing components.
- Verify with thermometer: Place an oven-safe thermometer in the center of the oven and preheat to 350°F. Compare the displayed temperature to the thermometer reading after 20–30 minutes.
- Adjust calibration: Many GE Profile ovens allow temperature calibration in the settings menu (e.g., +/- 35°F). Follow the user manual to adjust if the difference is consistent.
- Check sensor: If the temperature is erratic, test the oven sensor resistance at room temperature (~1080 Ω). Replace if out of spec.
- Inspect convection fan: For convection models, ensure the fan runs and the cover is not blocked by foil or pans.
Note: If large swings or overshoots occur, the EOC may need replacement.
