Possible Causes
Burned-out oven light bulb, Failed light socket, Faulty door switch, Defective light relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power or unplug the range before changing the bulb or socket.
- Replace bulb: Remove the glass light cover inside the oven (usually twists off). Replace the bulb with the correct high-temperature appliance bulb specified by GE.
- Test door switch: Press the door switch by hand; if the light does not respond and the switch feels loose or does not click, replace the switch.
- Inspect socket: If a new bulb does not work, inspect the socket for burning or corrosion. Replace the socket if damaged.
- Control issue: If the switch and socket are good, the light relay on the control board may have failed.
Note: Use only oven-rated bulbs; standard bulbs may shatter from heat.
