Possible Causes
Warped racks from self-clean, Buildup of grease or carbon on rack supports, Damaged porcelain liner
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Ensure the oven is cool before handling racks.
- Clean racks and supports: Remove racks and clean thoroughly with hot soapy water or a non-abrasive cleaner. Wipe the side wall rack supports as well.
- Inspect for warping: Place racks on a flat surface; if they rock or are visibly bent, replace them.
- Use high-temp lubricant: For heavy-duty racks, a very light coat of high-temperature food-safe lubricant on the side rails can improve sliding (check GE recommendations).
Note: Do not leave standard racks in the oven during self-clean unless the manual explicitly allows it; heat can discolor and warp them.
