Possible Causes
Element shorted to ground, Pinched or bare wiring touching chassis, Shorted control board, Shorted cooling or convection fan motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Leave the breaker off until the fault is identified. Do not repeatedly reset a tripping breaker.
- Isolate function: Note which mode causes the trip (bake, broil, convection, self-clean). This points to the likely circuit.
- Inspect elements and wiring: With power off, remove rear and bottom panels. Look for burned spots on elements, wires touching metal, or melted insulation.
- Test for ground fault: Disconnect the suspect element and check resistance from each terminal to chassis ground. Any continuity indicates a shorted element; replace it.
- Check motors: If trips occur in convection or cool-down, test the convection or cooling fan motors for shorts to ground.
Warning: If you are not experienced with electrical diagnostics, contact a qualified technician; short circuits can be hazardous.
