Possible Causes

Open bake element, Open broil element, Failed relay on EOC, Loose wiring at element terminals

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and verify power is off before touching any wiring or elements.

  • Check elements visually: Inspect the bake (bottom) and broil (top) elements for breaks, blisters, or burn marks. Any visible damage means the element should be replaced.
  • Test elements: Disconnect one wire from each element and measure resistance. Typical GE Profile elements read 15–40 Ω. Replace any open element.
  • Inspect wiring: Check for burned or loose wires at the element terminals and at the rear terminal block.
  • Check control output: If both elements test good, the EOC may not be sending power. This usually requires replacing the EOC.

Warning: Do not attempt live voltage testing unless you are trained and equipped; contact a technician if unsure.
