Broil element not heating but bake works

Safety first: Turn off power before servicing.

• Inspect broil element: Look for visible breaks or burn spots on the upper element. Replace if damaged.
• Continuity test: Remove the broil element, disconnect wires, and test for continuity. Replace if open.
• Check wiring and terminals: Repair any overheated or loose connections at the element or control board.
• Replace control board: If the broil element and wiring are good, the broil relay on the EOC may be defective and the board should be replaced.
