Possible Causes
Failed convection fan motor, Obstructed fan blade, Faulty convection relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and allow the oven to cool before accessing the rear panel or fan cover.
- Check for obstruction: Remove the convection fan cover inside the oven and ensure nothing is blocking the fan blade.
- Spin test: With power off, gently spin the fan blade by hand. If it is stiff or seized, the motor is likely bad and should be replaced.
- Access motor: Remove the rear panel of the oven to access the convection motor. Disconnect the wires and test for continuity. Replace the GE convection fan motor if open or seized.
- Control check: If the motor tests good, the convection relay on the control board may not be energizing; replace the EOC.
