Possible Causes
Failed electronic oven control (EOC), Shorted touchpad, Corroded keypad ribbon connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Shut off power at the breaker before working on the control area.
- Reset power: Turn the breaker off for 5–10 minutes. Restore power and observe. If F1 returns without pressing any keys, suspect the control board or keypad.
- Isolate keypad vs. control: With power off, remove the control panel and disconnect the keypad ribbon from the EOC. Restore power briefly. If F1 does not appear with the keypad disconnected, the keypad is bad. If F1 still appears, the EOC is bad.
- Replace faulty part: Order the correct GE touchpad/control panel or EOC using the full model number. Transfer wires one at a time from the old board to the new to avoid miswiring. Mount the new board, reconnect the keypad ribbon, and reassemble.
Warning: Do not operate the oven with the control panel open or with live exposed wiring.
