Possible Causes
Defective oven temperature sensor, Shorted sensor wiring, Failed EOC temperature circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and allow the oven to cool completely.
- Test sensor: Remove and test the oven sensor at room temperature (~1080 Ω). Replace if not within specification.
- Inspect wiring: Check the harness from the sensor to the control board for shorts to chassis or melted insulation, especially near the rear of the oven.
- Replace control board: If sensor and wiring are good, replace the GE electronic oven control board, as its temperature-sensing circuit may be faulty.
