Possible Causes
Failed oven temperature sensor (RTD), Broken sensor wiring harness, Loose sensor connector at control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before testing.
- Access the sensor: Locate the sensor probe inside the oven cavity (back wall, upper corner). Remove the two screws and gently pull the sensor forward to expose the connector.
- Test resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance with a multimeter. At room temperature it should be ~1080 Ω. If reading is infinite (open) or near 0 Ω (short), replace the sensor.
- Check harness: If the sensor tests good, inspect the wiring from the sensor to the control board for breaks, burns, or pinched spots, especially where it passes through the rear oven wall. Repair or replace the harness as needed.
- Verify at control board: With the sensor connected, measure resistance at the control board sensor terminals. If the reading differs significantly from the sensor reading, the harness or connectors are faulty.
Note: If sensor and wiring are good but F3 persists, the EOC may be defective and should be replaced.
